Body Trust Mini Guide

You’ve spent years learning to ignore your body. You were taught to silence its needs, push through discomfort, or label it as shameful or untrustworthy. Now, tuning in feels foreign and maybe even unsafe. You might find yourself overthinking everything but struggling to name what you’re actually feeling. Feeling relaxed in your body seems out of reach, and attempts to “just love yourself” haven’t landed. You’ve been stuck in survival mode for so long, you don’t know how to come back down.

This Body Trust Mini Guide offers compassionate, trauma-informed support for anyone feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode. Through somatic reflections and gentle prompts, you’ll learn to relate to your body with curiosity instead of criticism.

Who is the Body Trust Mini Guide for?

This guide is especially helpful if:

  • You were taught to ignore or distrust your body.

  • You feel numb, anxious, or “too much”.

  • You’re healing from trauma, religious harm, or shame-based conditioning.

  • You’re seeking nervous system-friendly ways to reconnect with yourself.

  • You want a safe, self-paced way to explore somatic healing.

No prior experience with therapy, mindfulness, or body work is required! You just need a willingness to begin, slowly and gently.

How to Use This Guide:

There’s no “right” way to move through this guide. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Go at your own pace

  • Start with one section that feels most accessible to you

  • Pause if anything feels overwhelming, and return when it feels safer

  • Use a journal, voice notes, or just mental reflection to track what you notice

  • Let this guide be a soft invitation, not a demand

You don’t need to force anything. Your body already holds wisdom, and this guide just helps you listen to it again.

MEET YOUR TRAUMA THERAPIST

STEPHANIE HARIMOTO, LMFT

Hi, I’m Stephanie Harimoto, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist serving clients across California and Utah.

I specialize in helping adults heal from trauma - including religious trauma, high-control group experiences, and shame-based conditioning - so they can reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and true sense of self.

For many of us, the body became something to manage, ignore, or control. I know how painful it can be to feel like your body is the enemy, and how overwhelming it is to try to rebuild trust with it after years of disconnection. This guide was created as a gentle invitation to start that process. No pressure. No performance. Just simple, accessible steps toward feeling more at home in yourself.

Whether you’re just starting your healing journey or returning to it once again, I’m so glad you’re here.
