TRAUMA THERAPY THAT HELPS YOU
Reconnect to yourself again.
When you've spent years adapting, surviving, or becoming who others needed you to be, it's easy to lose sight of yourself. Therapy can help you heal from trauma, unlearn harmful beliefs, and build a life rooted in self-trust, authenticity, and emotional freedom.
Does this sound familiar?
⟡ You learned to ignore your own needs to take care of everyone else.
⟡ You feel on edge and exhausted, but can’t figure out why.
⟡ You feel like you’re somehow too much and not enough.
⟡ You’re worried about disappointing others by being yourself.
⟡ Doing everything “right” didn’t land you where you thought it would.
Healing is possible, and it doesn’t have to happen in isolation.

Trauma doesn’t always look like just one event
When people hear the word trauma, they often think of a single life-changing event. While those experiences can absolutely be traumatic, trauma can also develop from years of living in environments where you didn't feel emotionally safe, accepted, or free to be yourself.
Sometimes it's less about what happened and more about what was missing.
Trauma therapy in Pasadena can help with…
-
Growing up without consistent emotional support, comfort, or validation can leave lasting wounds, even if your basic physical needs were met.
Maybe...
Your feelings were ignored or minimized.
You learned to handle everything on your own.
You became the "easy" child who never asked for much.
No one helped you understand or regulate big emotions.
-
Sometimes parents loved you deeply but lacked the emotional skills to meet your needs.
Perhaps you:
Had to comfort your parent instead of being comforted.
Were criticized more than encouraged.
Felt unseen or misunderstood.
Learned it wasn't safe to express difficult emotions.
-
Not all unhealthy relationships involve physical violence.
Relationship trauma can include:
emotional manipulation
repeated betrayal
controlling behavior
gaslighting
chronic criticism
inconsistent affection
feeling like you were never enough
-
Faith communities can offer belonging and support, but they can also become sources of fear, shame, or control.
You may have been taught:
your worth depended on your behavior
questioning authority was wrong
your body or sexuality was something to fear
love had to be earned
your identity wasn't acceptable
-
Perfectionism and people pleasing often begins as survival strategies.
You may have learned:
mistakes weren't safe
achievement earned love
success protected you from criticism
being "good" and helpful kept the peace
Over time, this can become exhausting.

My fee for services is $225 per 50-minute session. I have a limited amount of sliding scale slots that will be prioritized for BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ clients. There is no guarantee that any of these will be available at the time you call. Please let me know if you need sliding scale fees during our call. If I cannot accommodate, I am happy to point you in a direction to meet your financial needs.

I am currently considered to be an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide you a superbill each month to give to your insurance. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits - many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
Why you should consider working with an “out of network” therapist:
No limitations on sessions. We can meet for as long as you need without having to worry if insurance will cut us off, or end coverage, which could abruptly end your care.
Allows me to offer you more flexible, personalized, and intentional care.
Helps me keep your information completely confidential, without needing to share diagnosis or notes with insurance companies.
Allows us to avoid surprise billing issues, which can lead to lapses in treatment.
Lets us focus on what’s best for you, not what insurance says is best for you!

I meet with clients once a week for a 50-minute session.
Research shows that weekly therapy is the most impactful. With this in mind, I ask that you commit to weekly sessions for the first 6 months of therapy to establish care and get the support you deserve. I reserve biweekly therapy appointments for those who are transitioning out of therapy.
-
In our first session, we will review intake paperwork together. We will talk about how you are feeling about starting the process, and we will collaborate on what feels important to you. The first few sessions may feel like a bit of story telling to catch me up on your history. I also work intentionally to check in and make sure that our work is still feeling like a good fit for you.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO HEAL ON YOUR OWN!
